What is it

In addition to the immigration programs administered by the federal government’s Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, each of the 10 provinces have designed their own immigration program, called the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The PNPs are aimed at attracting foreign skilled workers in occupations which may be facing labor shortages in the respective provinces.

Ekann Immigration Inc. by virtue of having its office in Toronto, Ontario is active in assisting applicants with their PNP applications to immigrate to the province of Ontario.

Understanding the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The ONIP is an immigration program administered by the province of Ontario with the objective of facilitating permanent residence for foreign nationals who are currently residing in Ontario with legal temporary resident status as workers or students. The program can also be availed by temporary residents in other provinces in Canada, including visitors to Canada, and foreign workers residing overseas.

A Glimpse Into the Human Capital Priorities Stream

The province of Ontario periodically issues nominations through the Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream, or through other streams like the Ontario French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream, or the Ontario Skilled Trades Stream for applicants already registered with the Express Entry pool. Selected applicants are invited through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and given a deadline to submit their application. Subsequent to approval under the OINP, an additional 600 points is added to the applicant’s Express Entry profile, thereby ensuring that they are invited to apply for permanent residence in the next Express Entry draw.
